Racing the day after a hurricane

Hurricane Earl hit Nova Scotia just one day before our scheduled cross country race in Kentville at the legendary Gorge Trails. Best described as classic old school cross country The Gorge offers some excellent technical riding and has been off and on the race circuit for nearly 15 years.

Luck would have it that our area of the province was spared the brunt of the storm; we "only" revived about 50mm of rain and and light winds. Hot and dry weather leading up the the storm was truly a blessing and the dusty soil soaked up all the rain with ease. Not a single puddle on the trail during Sundays race. Amazing.

Turn out was great with 44 racers, every one was stoked to be out riding such dry trails. Enthusiastic spectators helped make for a great vibe during the event.

Thanks go out to all our volunteers and sponsor Michelin Tire for helping to make this event a success.
